Joined the company during Production Ramp Up Phase in the year 2004(Sept. ) as Executive Manager, Quality (Metallurgy , Casting and Forging ) , Six Sigma Certified Belt By Cummins Inc. , having 21 operators with overall responsibility of Key Results Area viz. Heat Treatment Operations, Incoming MIW Raw material ( Cylinder Block , Cylinder Head ,Cam shaft, Crank shaft and Con Rod) and BOF engine components Quality as per the Cummins quality standards deploying techniques like TS16949, Cummins Production system, Team Based work system, etc..

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES HEAT TREATMENT•Responsible for Case Hardening and Induction Hardening Processes •Responsible for Heat Treatment of Hot and Cold Forging (Metallurgical. Evaluation) at suppliers endPLANT METALLURGY •Responsible for incoming Material and In house Laboratory Tests including Calibration of lab equipments•To support Business development cell, Vendor development, warranty analysis cell in metallurgical evaluation of products. •Metallurgical inspection of different type of raw materials•Sub-contractor audits. Process Audit and Internal Quality Audits for QS-9000 .•Member of FMEA Team , conducting SPC and MSA activities as per requirement. METROLOGICAL •Responsibilities of STANDARD ROOM and GAUGE ROOM activities for inspection.•Calibration and MSA study of Standard instruments and Gauges .•Responsible for implementation of QS 9000 , TS 16949 and ISO 17025 in labACHIEVEMENTSReduced sample cutting time by 30 mnts.Reduced Setting Time in case of Induction hardening . Timely implementation of Effective Corrective actions and Controlled on Repeated customers complains

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :PROCESS CONTROL & QUALITY ASSURANCEPlanning, Implementing, Controlling, Analyzing Gaps and Improving Process control parameters .Overall Supervision of Metallurgical lab activities and responsible for incoming , in process, and Final quality of Raw Material and Castings. Spectro Meter analysis, Destructive and Nondestructive testing, Micro structure Study of S.G. I and Grey Iron .Rejection analysis, Initiation and monitoring of corrective action of in house/Customer Complaints components. Internal Quality auditor ACHIEVEMENTSWorked as Team Leader for the line Scrap reduction and achieved significant success by reducing scrap level to set target.Worked for preparing process documentation as per requirements of QS – 9000 .Worked as Process Engineer and played key role in the development of new component for General Motors,Tata Cummins, MUL, etc.
