As the chief of the section of endocrinology and associate professor of medicine at the University of Tennessee graduate school of medicine in Knoxville, I enjoy the responsibility of training the next generation of physicians.I am partner at one of the largest freestanding private practice endocrinology groups in the country in Knoxville Tennessee with 9 other endocrinologists and more than 10 NP/PA’s fully dedicated in delivering cutting edge endocrine care. The wealth of patient information we have is massive to be modest!I have lectured locally and nationally on diabetes care and I am actively involved in the American Diabetes Association and serve on the board of directors of the juvenile diabetes research Foundation.I did my early schooling in New York where my father taught medicine at New York Medical College. I did my training in Internal Medicine at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago and was bestowed the humanitarian award for two years in a row. This was followed by fellowship training in Endocrinology at Penn State University. My father continues to work as an Internal Medicine doctor at the age of 80+ in a rural, free hospital in India along with my mom. This has been and continues to be a constant source of inspiration for me.Also, on a personal front, my wife is a family doctor in Kingston, TN and a board member of Summit medical group, a large primary care group in the Knoxville area.I have 2 daughters who both aspire to follow in our steps in the art of medicine. In my spare time I love to play racquetball and brag about riding over 200 miles on my bicycle in one day and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro!!
