Excelra was then known as Informatics division of GVK BioDevelopment of computational algorithms/scripts to facilitate drug-disease-target mapping in order to identify new indications of existing, shelved or failed compounds. Briefly a computational pipeline is built for each disease/drug using either literature mining (LM) genes or gene ontology (GO) processes to build relationships between each pair of drug and diseases. LM gens or GO processes are also used for enrichment analyses.Another aspect of my responsibility includes regular interaction with clients for presentations of work progress and future developments.

Ph.D. Thesis Project: In-silico characterization of FNBP4 as well as understanding its interaction with formins under physiological conditions.Achievements: 16 Publications in peer reviewed journals, 2 poster presentations, 2 platform presentations.Major objectives:Objective 1: Understanding the distribution, domain organization, sequence conserveness and evolution of formin binding protein 4.Objective 2: Structural modeling of FNBP4 WW domains and understanding of its ligand choices and its interaction with formins.Objective 3: In-silico structural and functional characterization of plant homologues of FNBP4.Objective 4: Understanding the effect of physiological conditions (presence of water, 37oC, salts etc.) on the FNBP WW-Formin interaction using Molecular Dynamics simulations.Objective 5: Analysis of structural and sequence variations of WW domains of WW domain containing FNBPs to understand their ligand choice variations.Other than these objectives, I have worked on building web-servers and protein databases using PHP and MySQL. An online tool name Intron Exon and UTR explorer (IEUe), that can extract gene element length and compositional characteristics has been built by me and is available at www.kutest.phpzilla.net/ieue/ Other activities:I have also taken active part in setting up computational facilities for Molecular Dynamics Simulations using High Performance Systems (hardware requirements, necessary storage and electric back-up management and software setup for smooth operations with minimum down time to maximize productive time).
