My main focus is on conducting high quality, independent and original research in the field of Dental Informatics. Also, work closely with the IS development team on the specifications, implementation and evaluation of the dental module for the EHR and other clinical information systems.

In the CDIO’s role I am mostly responsible for developing strategic road map and advising specific implementation groups of key informatics and information technology solutions and infrastructure at Family Health Center of Marshfield (FHC) dental practices within Marshfield Clinic Health System to support patient care, research and educational activities. I work closely with the dental and medical leadership team to help build key informatics and information technology infrastructure based on translational research and best practices to address the quadruple aim in dentistry (improve quality of patient care, reduce cost of care, improve patient experience and improve provider experience). As the CDIO at FHC-Marshfield Clinic, I provide subject matter expertise on core clinical informatics topics and provide advice to the dental leadership team regarding:• Design and implementation of clinical information systems like electronic dental records (EDR), imaging software and work flow etc.; • Design and implementation of the clinical workflow and process with the use of EDRs, clinical decision support systems and risk assessment tools within dental practices; • Establishing the quality improvement platform for the dental practices by supporting the development, validation and implementation of specific dental eMeasures as well as development of appropriate data visualizations tools and dashboards; • Dental Terminologies, Information Model as well as Inference Models to support patient care, research and education; • Data governance and data analytical strategies; • Medical-Dental Integration and care coordination;

The Computation and Informatics in Biology and Medicine (CIBM) Training Program at UW-Madison is producing the next generation of computer researchers addressing biomedical problems. This training program is one of just 18 institutional training programs funded by NLM in biomedical informatics in the US. The 51 CIBM faculty span 15 different departments and five colleges at UW-Madison as well as several faclty at the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation (located about 100 miles north of Madison).

Involved in the development of an national reference standard for the Electronic Dental Record Information Model. Spearheaded the development of structured data elements that could be leveraged by software vendors for User Interface and Database design of Electronic Dental Records (EDR). As a subject matter expert, contributed to several projects: - Cognitive task analysis of dentists during decision making & treatment planning - 3D charting interface for general dentistry - Prototype testing of an EDR UI design developed by the Human-Computer Interaction Institute, Carnegie Mellon University - Pilot project linking the interface between information model & terminology model using principals of data modeling. - Use Case and System Design of the Contact Management System - Dental patient educational software review - Data modeling and Dental Information Systems Infrastructures - Development of technical notes

• Lead the creation of web-based educational materials for an undergraduate certificate program in PACS Administration.• Designed and developed the CD based workshops that was part of the certificate program.• Designed the layout, input didactic material for the WebCT courses, and designed the website for the program.• All of these activities were performed under the direction of the Curriculum Development/Instructional Design Department (CD/ID) of SHRP-UMDNJ.

• Successfully performed a broad range of procedures in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Periodontia and varied dental surgeries.• Established a diverse and growing clientele.

• Acquired experience in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Periodontia and minor dental surgeries.• Gained comprehensive knowledge of patient treatment procedures such as case history discussion, treatment planning, diagnosis, prognosis and patient education.

• The purpose of the Internship program was to impart practical instruction and clinical educational experiences in modern dentistry keeping in mind the dental health needs of the society.• Developed skills and acquired clinical knowledge with proficiency in managing dental patients independently.
