As a civil engineering graduate, I started my career with a strong foundation in the principles of construction and design. However, I soon discovered my passion for catastrophe modeling and analysis. Currently, I work as a Catastrophic Modeling Analyst at Gallagher, a global insurance brokerage and risk management services firm.In my role at Gallagher, I analyze data and generate loss projections for clients. I also conduct research on their projects and perform hazard, vulnerability, and financial analyses for a range of potential catastrophic events, including earthquakes, hurricanes, severe convective storms, wind storms, and floods.My expertise lies in using advanced statistical and modeling techniques to provide clients with accurate and reliable estimates of potential losses in the event of a catastrophic event. I am also skilled in identifying and assessing potential risks and uncertainties associated with various types of disasters. I work closely with clients to develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring that their assets are protected.One of my strengths as a catastrophic modeling analyst is my ability to communicate complex technical information to clients in a clear and concise manner. I understand that not all clients have a background in engineering or data analysis, and I take pride in being able to explain my findings and recommendations in an accessible way.In addition to my technical skills, I am a collaborative team player.
