Dr Amitha Preetham is a a GP Entrepreneur, health precinct infrastructure developer, Director of Health Integra and 2022 40 under 40 winner. She graduated from the University of Western Australia Medical School with Honors, has a postgraduate specialist family physician qualification and has been an accredited GP Trainer and Examiner; where she specialized in training Australian Defence Force Doctors to assimilate back into a community health setting. She has worked as a leader in health care service planning and health infrastructure development since 2009 as a director of Health Integra, focusing on creating high quality health service delivery models that provide patient centric, multidisciplinary care, and creating state of the art health facilities which move procedural hospital services out into the community, improving access for patients across both sectors. Her more recent projects have included the development and operations of Midland GP Superclinic at Midland Railway Workshops, and the development of Midland Specialist Centre and Midland Day Hospital. Dr Preetham has a strong track record in successful commercial negotiation, leasing and strategic engagement with national Hospital Groups, MNC’s, Government, Specialist health groups and Doctors, and has worked with State and Federal Government to deliver on high profile PPP’s. At the age of 15 to 17 and with the philanthropy of the Mining sector, she completed 3 university degree 3 year courses across chemistry, physics and biology, was a state Chemistry Olympiad Scholar and was a National Biology Olympiad Scholar, which ignited her spark for learning and innovation. Dr Preetham’s other interests include Health technology and innovation research, having served as a HISA committee member, a delegate of AUSTRADE for health innovation and co-lead With CSIRO for a world first trial harnessing the power of diagnostic artificial intelligence for diabetic retinopathy, later published through Harvard medical school in JAMA.
