With the aim of bringing up children with dignity and without prejudice, Shri Banerjee has been educating and empowering annually more than 600 children of sex workers, orphans, children of convicts and the needy in the shelter of Balgram (Children’s Home), Lonavala and in other 7 Places in India. He moves forward in faith to increase the literacy rate and empower children and women, in the rural interiors of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, U.P and West Bengal.Techincal Education Program for Rural Youth and School Drop-outs for more than 7000 Youths, and 187 Women’s Self-help Group promoted in 40 villages of Maval Taluka of Pune.Till today, more than 20000 children, 7000 youth and 10000 women benefitted through his effort. He was instrumental in developing all 20 projects from the Zero and to make all them living and beneficial for the various underprivileged children and youth and women.Shri Banerjee had various short training programs with many renowned institutes like Tata Institute of Social Sciences-Mumbai, E.M.I.-Durgapur, Indian Institute of Management-Kolkata and Lucknow, Indian Institute of Technology-Powai, National Police Academy-Hyderabad, N.I.D.-Ahmedabad, Xavier Institute- Ranchi and Jamshedpur, NIPCCED New Delhi and Indore etc. His guidance and support has been proved invaluable to organizations like ‘Ankur’ and ‘Snehalaya’ and other 30 Organizations of Maharashtra for the care and rehabilitation of Orphan, destitute and needy children of sex workers. Shri Banerjee was one of the active members in the Board of Directors in “Balgram Maharashtra” for 20 years.Under his leadership SAMPARC received National Child Welfare Award from Government of India.

Contributed his knowledge, experience and expertise for the care, protection and rehabilitation of the needy children in Pune district aiming to imbibe lawful intervention into the problems of the children. Under his leadership more than 3000 cases of children (juvenile cases) were solved within a span of just 6 years. He took a special drive with Government agencies of Maharashtra and other State Governments for rehabilitation of victimized minor girls (who were rescued from forced sex work and trafficked). He worked to control trafficking of minor girls in the district of Pune, Maharashtra. Coordinated with 22 child care institutes of the district including the foster care homes, adoption agencies, and special children's homes. He was keen in developing knowledge of Juvenile Justice Act among Government, Police and nongovernmental agencies.

From year 1984 to 1989, Shri Banerjee developed SOS supported children’s village (at that time) named Antarbharti Balgram near Lonavla. He made Antarbharti Balgram – a full flagged Children’s Home for Orphan Children. He introduced Education Centres (Balwadi) in 25 villages (where there were no school) in 2 Talukas in Pune district and worked for more than 2000 children to bring them to the school and to promote education awareness building up the community level in Maval and Mulshi taluka in Pune. Many more children who are now village level leaders have attended this preschool education centres.

Actively participated in the rehabilitation of around 1000 dalits, widows, Muslims, and Harijans for the renovation of homes, economic development, land development, farming and cultivation.

Relief-In-Charge for the district of Nadia, West Bengal under SEDP organisation for flood relief during October 1978 flood in Nadia District. Actively participated in the rehabilitation of households of 40 villages close to 3750 families in the district of Nadia.
