This year I moved to Integration team where I learnt about the evolving field of API gateways and API management. I am assisting in creating execution plan for migrating our legacy system to a new API-management platform; enhancing an internal API directory application to catalog APIs; bringing API design consistency and technical integrity across Enterprise by guiding multiple IT teams for RESTful API design.

After completing my assignments for customer data privacy, I moved back to Telecom Application development group due to a need of my skills and knowledge in that domain. Here played roles of Solution-Architect and Team-Lead to lead the architecture, design, development, configurations and deployment of high availability, complex applications to support business strategies and goals. During these assignments, I learnt a lot about solution architecture role and the corresponding responsibilities; assisted Project-Manager in estimation of resources, skills and efforts required to complete projects; learnt and then implemented RESTful APIs to support loosely couple architecture. I also learnt that challenges can be converted to opportunities when we start working on those. Below are couple of highlights during this role- I Contributed to increase ~10% in call center operational efficiency by integrating Backoffice applications to a cloud based third-party Natural Language IVR application which handled 5.5 million phone calls per month. - I helped automate the recording and storage of ~9000 voice interactions per day with average recording-length of ~20 minutes by leading RESTful API design and development.

In 2012, there was lack of challenging work in application development side due to freeze forced by moving of Telecom phone infrastructure from TDM (Time-Division Multiplexing) to VOIP (Voice over Intent Protocol). So, I loaned myself to another group initially for 6 months which got extended to 2 years due to my ability to learn on the job, take extra responsibilities and apply my learnings to solve business problems. Working in that group, I minimized risk of customer data breach by leading multiple technical teams for developing technical patterns to recurrently transform confidential & highly sensitive data from 100s of millions customer records using IBM Infosphere-Optim. I also integrated ODPP (Open Data Privacy Provider) API with a custom application to provide sanitization solution for Driver License Number field and non-standard data types like CLOB and BLOB using C/C++, C# and .NET Web Services.

After re-organization in 2007, I was promoted to next level to be a lead project resource to create and modify high availability, high performance Telecom domain applications that were integrated across multiple platforms, systems and vendor technologies. I collaborated with teams across organizations to achieve my goals; assisted in creating requirements, reviewed change-requests and assessed their impact to applications by negotiating with the business and technical counterparts; consulted with Solution Architects and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure all changes and enhancements align with the architecture roadmaps and strategic goals for the applications. Along with expanding my technical skills, I learnt a lot about the soft skills and this role helped to tremendously improve my leadership skills.

I was initially hired as an Analyst to analyze telecom application, but soon I became Technical Application Owner (TAO) of Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) application when I resolved the issue Progressive faced during an upgrade of Cisco Intelligent Contact Management (ICM- also known as IPCC). Then I learned about the emerging standards like Voice-XML, CCXML, Java Scripts, Web Services, ASP.NET and speech Grammar etc. Using that knowledge, I evaluated vendor products and recommended solutions for IVR application. Then along with architects and management, I helped build an IVR team. Led this team to design, develop, deploy and support a standard based IVR application that was later moved to cloud platform. During this time, I also continued to support CTI as TAO.

As a consultant on site at ABB Automation Inc. Cleveland (OH), Designed and implemented COM components and Active-X controls for CAD-style application (Composer) that was used by engineers to design flows. Implemented a web-based Documentation Management System.

As Analyst Programmer, Ramco System Chennai (INDIA), involved in all phases of the software development life cycle for an ERP package, like SAP. Application was developed using C++, SQL server, VB and other Microsoft technologies.
