I aim to remove the two main barriers to effective stroke care:1. Application of evidence-based secondary prevention measures to clinical practice2. Create a system that ensures ease of stroke research, on the background of ongoing epidemiological studies.My current intestests include:1. exploring and facilitating the role of recently licensed anticoagulants, which offer a unique opportunity to reduce overall societal burden of stroke, by providing alternatives to warfarin and better side effect profiles. I have been involved in several local initiatives and delivered educational seminars on the topic at local and National Level.2. facilitating the adoption of electronic prescribing in in-hospital settings, and managing the clinical governance aspects.I have substantial clinical experience in Stroke Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and General Internal Medicine. Through my clinical career, I have engaged actively with research including clinical trial management (site monitoring, ethical and regulatory approvals, data management, reporting); and recruitment (PI for several clinical trials); and teaching, education and trainee mentoring.
