With Dr. Russ Greiner at the University of Alberta. Our project uses machine learning tools to categorize cancers based on their RNAseq expression patterns.

Medical Sciences Team Lead for the University of Alberta Space Design Group. Our proposal was accepted by SEDS in the Canadian Reduced Gravity Experiment. Our project involved analyzing the genetic expression of cartilage tissue in a microgravity environment in an effort to better understand osteoarthritis.

After a series of applications and an audition, I was hired as an MCAT physics preparation instructor through Prep101 in 2018. I was responsible for leading four-hour physics lessons three times per week over the course of four weeks. My teaching style supports an energetic and interactive atmosphere and encourages peer-supported learning.

As a tutor, my role is to aid in students’ understanding of Anatomy course material by creating worksheets and leading weekly revision sessions.

Funded by the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) through the National Research Council, I am assisting in mesenchymal stem cell research.

Roles include creating revision material as well as a three-hour lecture prior to midterms and finals for selected courses. Courses taught include Introductory Physics and Anatomy at the University of Alberta.

Over the summer of 2017, I was funded by the undergraduate Research Initiative stipend. My project aimed to investigate the luminescence dynamics of Silicon Quantum Dots using time resolved spectroscopy and frequency resolved spectroscopy. In the fall of 2017, my project was expanded to investigating the sensing potential of these Silicon Quantum Dots on nitrogenous aromatic compounds such as nitrobenzene.
