Amit is the Founder & General Partner at Black Jays Ventures where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and investing in early-stage consumer start-ups.Prior to founding Black Jays, Amit was an active Angel investor with the New York Angels where he also served as a Board Member. His interest in supporting early-stage Founders was informed by his time in London where he advised young media and consumer startups; helping them raise seed capital, launch new services, and execute commercial partnerships. Most notably, he helped originate the sale of Blinkbox (UK’s second largest OTT video service) to Tesco.Amit spent the early part of his professional career as a strategy consultant to the media/entertainment industry. At both Deloitte UK and Ingenious Media, he advised blue chip media, telecoms, and technology clients on matters of corporate strategy, digital transformation and growth. His key areas of expertise included: developing corporate strategies, identifying growth opportunities, evaluating investment cases, and negotiating commercial partnerships. Notable clients included: Sony Pictures, BBC, RTL, Cable & Wireless, Vodafone, and British Telecom. While in London, Amit began his career with Deloitte Canada, helping clients improve business performance and reimagine service delivery by leveraging information technology.Amit holds an MBA from London Business School.
