Joined the UofT Viral Core facility, established due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. My work included:- Generating a bank of seasonal Coronaviruses propagated using various tissue-culture cell lines- Creating SOPs for optimized viral yields, measured by TCID50 and RT-qPCR- Training team members and collaborators on proper handling of respiratory viruses- Christie-Holmes et al. 2021: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34320409/

During my work in Dr. Alan Davidson's lab I designed and performed genetic engineering of EHEC strains using multiple molecular recombineering methods. I also purified bacteriophages from dozens of clinical bacterial samples using induction and plaque assays.

During my work in Dr. Ilan Rosenshine's lab I designed and performed molecular engineering of EPEC strains in several projects using various genetic engineering approaches, as well as performed confocal and fluorescence microscopy of EPEC-infected cell cultures.
