I manage and head the entire risk management framework for the KFH (Bahrain), a domestic systemically important bank in Bahrain. I directly report to the Board Risk Committee with an administrative reporting to the Managing Director of the bank.I manage a sophisticated risk management framework implemented through various departmental units such as Investment Risk, Market, Credit and Operational Risk, ALCO framework, Analytical Modeling units- ICAAP and Stress Test, RAROC and FTP and Basel II & III Implementation. In my previous roles, I also managed Credit approval dept., Compliance dept., and Anti Money Laundering division in the bank.I regularly speak in the International forums on various topics such as Islamic banking, risk management, banking and investments topics.Specialties: Credit approval process and credit review, Corporate and retail credit, Syndication and debt capital market, Project finance, Investment Risk, Derivatives including exotics, Hedge Fund, Private Equity, Analytical and valuation models, Basel II advanced appoaches and so on.Though, I am responsible for managing diverse areas in risk and banking activities, I come from a system led financial engineering background and specialize in Credit process and Investments - hedge fund, exotics, fixed income, derivatives - structured and traded credit. I am more passionate towards models of various kinds and knowing more the "why" than the "what".
