Amiya Crockrom, Mpa Email and Phone Number
Amiya Crockrom is a Chicago native and a recent 2-time graduate of Clark Atlanta University. In May of 2021, she graduated Magna Cum Laude majoring in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in TV, Radio, and Film. Ever since she was a little girl, she has loved learning and her community. Before attending the Illustrious Clark Atlanta University, she worked heavily at her home church Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church; Amiya found her passion in many places on Clark's campus. She has had a spiritual impact by serving as the Worship Leader in the CAU Worship Choir, a mentoring force becoming an Orientation Guide and UPS Scholar, and an inspirational standpoint influencing the campus culture as Miss Sophomore, SGA Secretary and reigning as the 32nd Miss Clark Atlanta University during the pandemic for the 2020-2021 academic school year. In the Fall of 2019, she was initiated into the "Sweet" Alpha Pi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Through all these activities, the one thing in common is her love for helping others. She aspires to one day open a nonprofit to help end the school-to-prison pipeline. What truly makes her happy is living life to the fullest while inspiring every person she encounters to do the same. Amiya's favorite hobbies are painting, watching movies, and eating. Another passion of hers is singing and performing. After receiving her bachelor's, she worked as a Social Emotional Learning Coach at Kindezi @ Gideons Elementary School under the nonprofit Hands on Atlanta, a political intern with Stacey Abrams Fair Fight Action, and a Change Agent helping fight education gaps in the community for The Joseph and Evelyn Lowery Institute for Justice and Human Rights. In May of 2023, Amiya completed and defended her capstone paper titled "An Analysis of College Pathways for Minority Youth in Chicago," officially completing the last requirement for her master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Leadership and Management. Currently, she is a project coordinator for Blooksy, Beyond Literacy Summer Program. In everything she does, she constantly reminds herself of what God's promises for her in His word, in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
