1. Manage all department staff in performing their delegated tasks2. Ensure that all department staff acquires required skillsets, knowledge and certifications through appropriate training and professional development programs (in coordination with the Human Capital and Administration Division).3. Periodically appraise the staff. Coach and counsel them as required. Encourage good communication among all levels of staff. 4. Prepare periodic performance reports for the department and provide inputs to the business unit’s performance report.5. Monitor all aspects of project management including:a. Forecasting project size, estimating cost and effortb. Developing detailed project plan and ensuring accurate, timely implementation in line with GET standards and quality management systems6. Propose alternative solutions if the department cannot answer within the requested timeline or budget.7. Provide direction to the software teams to ensure optimum performance.8. Review and approve tailoring sheet introduced by the software team leaders.9. Direct the development of detailed designs, data base structures, coding and algorithm writing based on high-level software designs (both customization and newly developed features)10. Develop Demo/Proof of Concept (POC).11. Propose to Corporate Branding the design of the user interfaces.12. Analyse bug reports and direct issues resolution. Approve version releases which have been approved by the testing department. Monitor implementation of software delivery activities.13. Ensure approval and sign-off on final package/ product offering.14. Resolve client issues through intervention (onsite, remote) as a second/ third line of support and thereafter escalate to Director of Operations and Director of Software Development, if necessary.15. Perform maintenance of installed software, either onsite or remotely, as required.16. Responsible for development of the technical user manual.
