Two months internship in the molecular microbiology department at NRC. Through the internship I gained experience on:- Utilizing tools in structural bioinformatics, molecular modeling, molecular docking, and computer-aided drug design. - Cultivating and isolating various microorganisms from different samples. - Running PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA extraction. - Application of techniques such as cloning, sequencing, and plasmid preparation. - Application of genetic manipulation and recombinant DNA technology. - Analyzing experimental data using statistical software and bioinformatics tools like BLAST. - Ensuring lab safety standards and contamination prevention.

During my internship, I conducted in-depth studies on the formulation, characterization, and applications of nanomaterials. Key responsibilities included:- Synthesizing and characterizing nanomaterials using techniques like spectroscopy and electron microscopy.- Exploring diverse applications in medicine, electronics, and environmental science.- Leading a project to assess the cytotoxicity of nanomaterials through in vitro assays and biological interaction analysis.- Analyzing data, making reports, and presenting findings.

Led two groups of young women in developing technology solutions to address community issues.Directed teams through the program curriculum and the project development process by conducting three sessions a week.
