With a Master's degree in Botany/Plant Biology from Washington State University and a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Biotechnology with a concentration in Molecular Biochem/Biotech from Minnesota State University, I am a plant researcher with seven years of academic and industry work experience in plant molecular science and plant biotechnology fields. I am passionate about improving plant growth through both traditional and biotechnological means, particularly in the face of population growth, industrialization, and the climate crisis. I am also interested in the plant molecular biology and genetics side of the ever-expanding and under-regulated medical and recreational cannabis industry.As a former GMP Biomanufacturing Operator and Technical Director of Microbiology at Aldevron and Professional Testing Labs, Inc. respectively, I have gained valuable experience in operating and managing bioreactors/fermenters, chromatography systems, and microbiology equipment, as well as conducting quality control and assurance tests, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards and upholding client confidentiality. I have experience working in and managing teams with diverse levels of education, experience, background, and identity. I have also contributed to several research projects on plant genetics, biochemistry, and physiology, using various techniques such as PCR, DNA sequencing, and tissue culture. I have proven communication, research, and public speaking skills, and I am eager to relocate along the WA/OR I-5 corridor to pursue new opportunities and challenges in laboratory research positions.
