Ammar Aker was recently hired by the Palestinian Cabinet as a Chairman of the Palestinian Capital Market Authority (PCMA). PCAM is the regulator for the non-banking financial sector. For the past 30 years, he has been a Palestinian Executive and Entrepreneur with exposure to several regional and international markets. He served as a CEO of Palestine Telecom Group (PalTel) from 2010 until 2022. He also served as a member of PalTel Group’s Board of Directors from 2012-2023. Prior to that, he was the CEO of Palestine Cellular Communications Company (Jawwal), and before that, he served as a CFO for the company. Mr. Aker has also served as s Chairman of the Board of ARKAAN Real Estate Co., the largest real estate public company in Palestine with almost $500M of assets until Mid-2023. He was also the Chairman of VTEL Middle East and Africa (MEA) from 2010-2023, and a board member of PADICO Holdings from 2012-2023. Ammar is also an active board member of several international, regional and local organizations, such as An-Najah National University Board of Trustees, the AMIDEAST Advisory Board in Palestine, PalTechUS Advisory Board, the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Palestine Branch, Mahmoud Darwish Foundation, and The Institute of Palestinian Studies (IPS) in Beirut.He is also a co-founder of Lychee Tech, Spinel Tech, Acadia Investments, MKN Group (Canada), and Aspects Investments (Canada).Mr. Aker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science degree in accounting from Kent State University, Ohio.
