• Research project title: “A comprehensive Disaster Management Framework for Smart Cities”• Sought out after achieving 2nd and 3rd place in a machine learning competition (see ACHIEVEMENTS)• Increased productivity by implementing the use of Jira for this project to keep the ever–so–busy supervising professors up to date, as well as applying the rest of the Scrum Agile framework throughout the course of the project• Currently comparing 3 different metaheuristic algorithms in the context of GIS localization for disaster management, to determine the best locations to place shelters in the city of Dubai in case of a disaster

• Research project title: “An Intelligent Robot System to Instruct, Demonstrate and Supervise An Upper-Extremity Rehabilitation Session”• Increased our team’s understanding of the existing solutions by authoring a literature review of around 70 robotic rehabilitative devices for the upper extremity.• Developed an exercise motion detector using Microsoft’s Kinect V2.0 camera to facilitate the supervision part of the full robotic system.• Helped a team of 3 senior students achieve an A by supervising their ambitious senior design project.

• Chosen for the internship despite being a year under the typical students enrolled for these internships• Quickly learned python to use the NAOqi Python API, alongside the C++ SDK.• Picked the best speech recognition solution for a research project by implementing the battleship pen–and–paper game to be played with the robot, including but not limited to cloud computing solutions.• Excelled at the training and was offered to continue working as a research assistant at the end of the internship, despite being my first experience with Python.
