I had the good fortune and opportunity to open and manage the St. Louis office for a Kansas City-based marketing communications firm, where I oversaw St. Louis business development, managed the St. Louis-based accounts, and served as a member of the firm's management team. Part of my focus was securing media relations and public relations for clients. Examples of secured media placements included CNBC “Power Lunch," Reuters, BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Kansas City Business Journal, St. Louis Business Journal, KWMU - St. Louis Public Radio, and multiple industry publications.

At GenAmerica Financial, a St. Louis-based life insurance and financial services company, I served as Director of Public Relations where I oversaw the media relations, PR and internal communications division. Part of my role as the Director of Public Relations was to secure media placements for executives and independent contracted producers from the Individual Life insurance division. Hundreds of interviews were secured with placements in local, regional, trade and national publications, which included The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Business Journal and National Underwriter, and with local broadcast and radio outlets such as KSDK-Channel 5, KMOX and FOX-2 News.After MetLife acquired GenAmerica Financial, I later moved into independent producer communications where I also created and managed a weekly field communications process for more than 150,000 independent producers by working with the legal and compliance departments to ensure materials met NASD and SEC requirements.The experience I gained while at GenAmreica Financial and later MetLife allowed me to gain a strong understanding of financial services, banking and professional services and many of the clients for AMM Communications have been in one of these industries
