Promotion to Associate Senior Scientist, providing SME insight across multiple internal and external high-profile projects and involvement in project proposals and planning. Roles and responsibilities included:• Leading downstream work packages across multiple projects• First point of contact as downstream processing SME for multiple projects• Developing a small-scale purification method using Robocolumns to support lab scale optimisation and generate a sample clean up tool to support analytical characterisation• Reviewing experimental designs and reports

As a downstream processing scientist, roles and responsibilities included:• Leading the optimization of end-end downstream processes which included optimizing the following unit operations: clarification, TFF, Affinity chromatography, Ion-exchange chromatography, sterile filtration.• Leading scale up studies to support the transfer of the AAV end-end process to a 50L and 200L scale.• Involved in tech transfer to multiple organisations, which involved training operators through online lectures and in person demonstrations and preparation of tech transfer documentations (SOPs, TT report, BSDs)• Leading the training of technicians, scientists, and senior scientists within the downstream team to upskill the team• Management of technicians and apprentices within the team• Preparation of CMC documentation (risk assessments) of all materials used within the downstream process• Chairing meetings including bi-weekly “all hands” meeting, lab management duties, apprentice mentor
