- Independently teaching undergraduate students as part of the Psychology Department- Courses Offered: Introduction to Psychology Research Methods in Psychology Trauma and Resilience

Analyzed and coded 10 trauma monologues of military veterans according to trauma type.Deconstructed themes of sexual assault for female veterans under the lens of trauma and mental health from qualitative data.Co-authored two research publications.o Role: Research and compilation of supporting literature, coding themes from data, and writing sections of the literature review

Co-primary investigator with Dr. Suleman Shahid understanding risk and protective factors contributing to the development of trauma symptoms in light of previous infectious disease epidemics. Additionally, the research is exploring how Pakistan’s sociocultural norms and economic landscape shape the experience of psychological trauma caused by COVID-19. Working towards developing a culturally informed trauma screening tool to be incorporated with Pakistan's primary healthcare.

Provided weekly individual therapy to eight clients using a psychodynamic perspective with cognitive behavioral therapy. Worked with a population of high functioning adults presenting symptoms of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder

Completed training in community-based data collection for a federally funded randomized control trial aimed to provide an alternative to incarceration for girls in the juvenile justice system. Lead 40 data collection visits as the primary data collector, visiting participants’ residences.

Carried out a systematic literature review to highlight findings surrounding the impact of intimate partner violence on children with Dr. Judith Alpert as advisor and mentor. Findings were presented at the annual research showcase held by NYU Steinhardt.

Assisted development consultant and member of UN high level panel, Ms. Fiza Farhan in her projects with the UN, World Bank, International Development NGOs, Government projects and development agencies. Main tasks included doing research, preparing reports, gathering and analyzing data, developing implementation plans for respective projects. Most projects assigned were concerned with sustainable development goals, primarily gender empowerment and sustainable living in Pakistan.

Assisted Ms. Fiza Farhan in her project with UNDP to bring Sustainable Development Goals to the private sector organizations in Pakistan. Main tasks included doing a literature review on the existing private sector environment in Pakistan, preparing interview questionnaires for corporations, assisting Ms. Farhan in meetings with companies like Nestle and Unilever as well as the President of Chambers of Commerce. Furthermore, responsibilities involved developing the final scoping study and developing future implementation plans and potential partnerships under Ms. Farhan's guidance.

Researched foreign training workshops for engaging men against gender based violence, and developed a training manual for Pakistan to be used by White Ribbon Campaign Pakistan, in their training workshops. Also headed and conducted a focus group in this regard.

In collaboration with LoveDocto.co, India, my proposal made it to the top 50 teams in the international grant competition, aimed at enhancing safety and security of women in South Asia. The proposed project involved establishing a digital counselling platform for domestic violence victims in Pakistan, through a self-designed counselling framework.

Part time research associate with Chayn, an international NGO working for women empowerment. Contributed to their campus abuse guide for girls in Pakistan.

Trained and worked as a listener for an online hotline for people in abusive relationships. Chayn India has started an online counselling facility for abused victims from around the world. Listeners are trained to provide first respondent support to victims, and refer people who require counselling, to the professionals on the team.

Worked as an assistant internship coordinator at Akhuwat; an NGO serving the purpose of enabling underprivileged people to establish their own source of livelihood by giving out interest free loans to them. Main tasks included supervising interns on field visits, coordinating with Akhuwat office, and leading intern meetings/tasks in the absence of the Head Coordinator.
