A resourceful and enthusiastic professional with a multidisciplinary profile. Since 2005 I have been working in different aspects of tourism, from research and education to marketing, public relations, and the private sector.With regards to sustainable tourism, I have worked as a researcher, lecturer and practitioner, and I obtained my PhD in this field in 2010. I have collaborated as an expert with organizations such as United Nations World Tourism Organization, providing trainings and developing, reviewing and enhancing their educational material. One of my main interests is tourism as a tool for development and cooperation, which lead me to the extraordinary experience of working as tourism marketing and PR specialist in the Asian Kingdom of Bhutan.My other great passion is sustainable development and the challenges and opportunities it offers. During my time teaching at Maastricht University I focused on topics such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Multilateral Environmental Agreements, global environmental challenges, climate change, social and environmental transformations and the interface between science, policy, industry and society. While teaching I made use of some innovative educational tools and methods such as flipped-classroom, problem-based learning (PBL) and e-learning platforms.I am open to explore new exciting career opportunities, both in the private sector and in research and education anywhere in the world!
