Conducted fieldwork and administrative tasks to assist in the environmental remediation of petroleum sites. - Field responsibilities included groundwater sample collection via low-flow and bailer methodologies, monitoring groundwater conditions via YSI multi-parameter sondes, soil vapor/interior air sampling via SUMMA, interior/ambient air screening, soil classifciation and characterization, soil sampling and preservation, and contractor oversight of drilling, borings, well installation, and well abandonments. - Administrative tasks included comprehensive preparation of field activities, sample organization, updating and maintaining historical environmental databases through EQuIS and Excel, and data verification. - Other duties included the writing of public notifications, and assisting in the drafting of various status reports to MassDEP and CTDEEP, allowing for the effective communication of scientific concepts and data to a wide variety of knowledge backgrounds.

With the funding derived from the NSERC Undergraduate Student Researcher Award (USRA), assisted Dr. Reinhardt of the Earth Sciences department at McMaster University to analyze the paleoclimate proxy potential of calcite rafts. Optical microscopy, isotopic analysis, stratigraphic analysis, SEM, and hydrogeochemical concepts were applied to ascertain the ability of calcite in karst systems to record aquifer conditions and characteristics over a millennial scale.

As a hydrologic technician performed various water quality analyses both in the field and in the office. Duties included well monitoring, sampling, well development, GIS mapping, surveying, and other tasks in order to evaluate groundwater quality and contamination in the greater Cape Cod region.
