I work on systems throughout the entire application lifecycle, specifying and designing new systems, supporting existing and decommissioning.My work has been focused in the following four areas:Implementation:EPMA • Managed implementation of application to move away from paper medical charts to an electronic prescribing system• I worked with the supplier to devise the two sets of required infrastructure. • This included some difficult configuration of SQL Server• 2 go-live events for the team, both have been successful with no issuesKronos • I worked through requirements to devise a robust technical infrastructure• Specified and build a live/DR, test and dev environments• The infrastructure is currently live in several regional sites, and is compliant to our standardsArchibus • I Planned upgrade path – including requesting capital funds• I have delivered an upgraded application, with upgraded supporting hardware and softwareDevelopment:MIG DataService • Specified the requirement to retrieve data from EMIS Web MIG patient data services • I worked with the supplier to identify the data set, and the configuration of the webservice• I then worked with the PAS team to pass the application into SQL as a live application• The service is to propagate the physical healthcare details for patients.• It was a huge saving for licence cost, and external development timeSupport: • Support for one of our systems was not up to par.• A key relationship had deteriorated due to changes and intransigence.• I worked with the supplier and the department concerned to rekindle the relationshipKey Achievements:• Lead group to review staff satisfaction survey results in a couple of domains• My implementations tend to be on time and on budget.• My critical evaluation of technical and business systems have fed into IT strategy

As the Head of Department, and the school ICT Coordinator, I had the 4 main responsibilities:Leadership: I was the head of a department of about 8 staff, consisting of 4 permanent ICT/Computing staff, and 3 Business Studies staff who also taught ICT. We also had a student teacher with us for a term, who’s NQT was being monitored by one of my team. Staff• Due to my promotion, we needed to recruit my replacement• I worked with SLT to devise the person spec and required standards• The deputy head and I interviewed• We recruited a good teacher, who was an asset to my teamIT Training CPD • Teaching and support staff lacked IT skills• Several colleagues asked that I put on CPD events to improve their skill in IT• Over the course of the year we put on a number of evening sessions• Several staff thanked me for the insight, and the time they had saved in their workMentoring • We wanted to allow a trainee teacher to reciprocate investment in my staff• I worked with my staff to identify a training plan• I mentored my staff to help them in their dealings with the trainee• The trainee was not of the required standard, so I had to manage his departure from the course Syllabus Development: • Several courses came to an end due to statutory changes• I worked with the team to identify the available options• The courses were well received by staff and pupils Budgeting: • As HoD, I was responsible for managing the departmental budget• I worked with staff to identify required resources• I prioritised the requirements, getting required items and made capital requests for shortfall Standardisation: • I had to prepare my department for MOCSTED inspection• We had to standardise our marking, adopting a common framework for assessment• Over the course of the year ICT moved from “4. Poor” through “3. Requires Improvement” and when I left our score was “2. Good” in reviews

I joined Sir Christopher Hatton in 2012 following my 5 years at Guilsborough. In addition to the competences of the classroom teacher, I had the following responsibilities.ICT Lead: As the school lead on ICT, I was responsible for working with departments to encourage the use of ICT as a means to deliver engaging lessons and to encourage staff to be more comfortable with ICT, to enhance their own teaching and preparation. VLE – School Intranet • I managed the transfer to the new provider, following tender process, the result was to select “Frog”.• I worked with the supplier to implement the solution.• After I arranged training for the super users, most departments had an active presence.Training Events • Several staff asked for help in various digital tools (Excel/Word) to be more effective in their work• I identified some key activities, taking account of their roles and drew up a training plan to match• Over the course of several CPD sessions I had a great number of staff attend my sessions• Staff thanked me for saving them hours of wasted timeMentoring: NQT Mentoring • Worked, collaboratively to provide the required evidence for NQT, assessing strengths and overcoming weaknesses• Over the year, we found the required evidence to see him fully qualified. Syllabus Development: There were a number of changes to the way we were required to teach ICT during this year, so we had to review and revise many of the courses we taught to ensure that they complied with government standards. I drew up a number of matrices, to identify the requirements of the courses. I then applied the courses to the templates to ensure that our courses covered all areas.Teaching: During my time at Sir Christopher Hatton, I taught all year groups, and all ability groups, teaching ICT across all key stages, Teaching Computing at KS4 and KS5.
