About Amos Lawless
My expertise is in the mathematical theory of data assimilation and its application in Earth observation, with a particular interest in four-dimensional variational data assimilation (4D-Var) techniques. Along with my colleague Sarah Dance, I co-lead the Data Assimilation Research Centre at the University of Reading and the Data Assimilation division of the UK National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO). I am passionate about the training and development of early career scientists and bring that into my role as Training Lead of NCEO.
