Ahmed is recognized by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as a Professional Engineer. He has MS and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and the University of Alberta, respectively. He earned BSc and MS degrees in Water Resources from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. With a combined total of 23 years project management experience in environmental, geo-environmental, water resources, geotechnical and structural engineering projects from all around the world, Ahmed has excelled in leading teams and balancing priorities. He worked with many organizations that had diverse needs throughout his career - from the government sector all the way through international corporations. Ahmed has contributed to projects in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, British Columbia and Nunavut. He is experienced in the Alberta Soil Monitoring Directive and both the Alberta and federal soil and water quality guidelines. Ahmed conducted work in Alberta off and on reserve land alongside members of the First Nation communities. Ahmed is a highly energetic individual who has been recognized both academically and professionally for his excellent work. He was awarded the Fulbright scholarship to study at Penn State, as well as an Alberta Innovates Technology Futures scholarship during graduate school while completing PhD degree in environmental engineering at the University of Alberta. His passion lies within connecting with his teammates and helping clients reach their environmental goals efficiently. He'll put enthusiasm into practice by ensuring that high-quality services are delivered consistently, effectively.He also loves teaching what he found valuable and proven in work, and for that reason he started teaching project management especially after the addition of the agile approach and people domain to it. He is also a certified PMP® and PMI-ACP® and have been training people to became project leaders. Ahmed's approach is mostly based on his experience as a practitioner and what worked for him with different teams. However, he is always learning from others and trying new things too. Ahmed believes that good project management is more about people than processes and he enjoys sharing this message with others.
