Adult Nurse Practitioner
CurrentI have long-term work histories at all of my previous places of employment as well as in home assessment of patients. The cross section of individuals I have both worked with and taken care of as patients have honed my interpersonal skills, which have helped develop my customer service, team building, and conflict resolution skills. These are traits that I consider my greatest assets. I am also fluent in Spanish, able to read, write and speak without problem. In my lengthy career in healthcare, I have worn many titles, I have performed basic bedside nursing, been a supervisor, worked as an MDS coordinator, and run a restorative department to improve patient care and improve reimbursements to the facility where I worked. I also have experience teaching and mentoring students, having served on a committee that fostered mentoring, as well as interacting with other faculty members to collaborate on ways to improve student experience and learning. I also worked in a behavioral unit for a number of years and I am familiar with addiction as well as other mental illnesses and the horrible impact it has on patients lives, I am aware of the need for hope and help for these type of patients and I am certain I can help make a difference in their lives. During my time doing health risk assessments at the patient's home I worked very hard to make sure members were fully examined and satisfied with their assessments. I also tried to remain flexible in order to help fulfill the company’s contracts to the insurance companies. I am very familiar with long-term care and geriatrics and I know I can provide and deliver outstanding care.
