I am a multilingual researcher, program manager and health communicator with over 10 years of national and international experience in health care, public health, research, arts, international NGOs, and academia. As a former professional principal ballet dancer and founder of Yoga Urbana, I had the opportunity to manage several international projects centered around movement therapy, yoga, and dance for older adults. While providing consulting services for the government sponsored Niigata Project in Agano, Japan, I contributed towards the design and implementation of arts in health programs at health centers, spa destinations, and older adult residential care centers. My years providing physical therapy interventions as a licensed therapist at the best hospitals in the Texas Medical Center (the largest medical center in the world) allowed me to focus on serving the geriatric population while treating patients from different cultures and interacting with a multidisciplinary team. A fan of integrative thinking, I bring to the table a solid background in conducting research, managing projects, and disseminating research-based messages related to health and aging.
