While my work is not all that I am, all that I am is in my work. Life has led me on a career path focused in trauma, primarily child abuse. It is a world that chose me and I leaned in, choosing to dedicate my education and training to the prevention of child maltreatment. I’ve expanded my career and now work in adult mental health with women who have a history of trauma. I have a Masters in Social Work and an LCSW in Oregon and Wisconsin, and am certified as a CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional). I've had the opportunity to partner with many community agencies including healthcare systems and hospitals, public and private mental health providers, law enforcement agencies, courts and District Attorneys, Department of Human Services agencies and child welfare systems, schools, addiction treatment centers, and many other needs-focused agencies. I have experience in program development and worked collaboratively in establishing a new advocacy and support program for patients and their families at a regional Children's Advocacy Center. I excitedly took on a pilot role as the first Family Navigator and with direct feedback and experience, I collaboratively adjusted the program. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I focused on research and created a family resource packet tailored to those families. I co-presented the program and it was accredited by The National Children's Alliance. In 2021, I began developing my career in management and supervising two teams made up of social workers and clinical professionals. I have experience in hiring and training new staff, providing direct consultation and support, and working as part of a coordinated management team.In 2022, I made a shift to the mental health field and began working with adults admitted for inpatient psychiatric care, and in intensive outpatient services. I'm enjoying working in this setting and the shift has broadened my skillset tremendously. I am dedicated to continuing my learning not only to remain proficient in my work, but to be an effective leader, support others in their own professional growth, and most inclusively and importantly- to best support other humans. I am interested in expanding my skillset and experiences, and want to continue investing in new opportunities for growth. Outside of professional development, I practice self-care with a large sense of humor. I love baking fancy cupcakes and decorating sugar cookies, creating wedding invitations and other crafts, and spending time with my family and Siberian Huskies.
