I have worked under the belt of confidentiality for over 8 years, so I understand the utmost importance of keeping data, particularly patient level data secure, and I support this with yearly Information Government (IG) training.The SLAM-PLD validation involves liaison with the IFR-team and the SWL Interface and Secondary Prescribing Support (ISPS) team to ensure that challenges are raised correctly. The challenge reports are fed into the monthly challenge letter for contracting and finance to take forward with the Trust. I am also supporting quarterly/annual reconciliation meetings by generating up-to-date positions as and when required. The available data is also used for budget monitoring as well as forecasting expenditure by the SWL ISPS team.In my current role as team leader for the High Cost Drugs (HCD) team, I am responsible for organising the daily workflow of the team. The majority of the work consists of processing of HCD SLAM-PLD on behalf of 6 SWL CCGs on a monthly basis. Processing of the reports involves generating initial challenge reports for 23 Trusts and replying to the monthly challenges responses as well as circulating the current positions to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) as well as the providers. This work is subject to strict national/local deadlines and is part of the monthly contractual challenge round. Challenges are generated based on national/local commissioning policies across the sector by using a HCD-reference list.In my daily work, I am proficient using Microsoft excel. I have identified the need for further training and will attend a training course to improve my skills. In my spare time, I like to use this time to familiarize myself with my role and my work to ensure efficient smooth running of the role, and to gain a faster and smarter way of working.
