Research Associate- ConsultantQueens Public Health Informatics Team Jan 2011 - May 2012Our main project was a health inequity analysis of the South East LHIN using quantitative research methods (statistical analysis of hospital databases) and qualitative research methods (creating a validated survey instrument, and conducting focus groups and interviews with stakeholders). Research will be used to guide policy decision making in the south east region of Ontario (annual budget of $1.1 billion). Study has identified various primary health care needs, pattern of primary health care utilization, and vulnerable populations in the region. Research has been presented at various research symposiums and will be put forth for publications.

The project was part of a larger provincial project that assessed the medical needs of patients with complex mental health conditions.
