I am an electrical engineering MSc student at the University of Alberta (UofA). I am passionate about AI, control systems, and robotics. My research topic revolves around applying state-estimation to robotics using reinforcement learning.Currently, I am working as a student researcher at the Telerobotic and Biorobotic Systems Group (TBS) at the UofA. My work consists of designing an upper-limb exoskeleton for industrial applications to minimize injury rates. Formerly, I have worked at the Renewable Energy Labratory (REL) at Prince Sultan University as a power electronics researcher. I have written 3 conference papers and one journal during my time with REL. The first paper has already been published won the Best Presentation Award at the IEEE GPECOM2021 conference. To learn about my work, please see the Google Scholar link attached to the end of this bio.Outside of work, I love to work on my own projects. For my capstone, I helped develop a micro-computer that has the area of a typical credit card. My work contribution consisted of designing the hardware circuit schematic, as well as programming the operating system drivers, overall firmware library, and UI headers. My Github profile attached below shows more information regarding previous projects that I am/have worked on.Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=dxLbq4MAAAAJ&hl=enGitHub: https://github.com/amrmarey15
