'A jack of all trades is a master of none' is a quote that has always intrigued me. As someone who considers her curiousity to be her superpower, this quote triggered mixed feelings in me. The desire to want to know at least a little bit of everything versus the gnaw of knowing that you aren't a master of any proved to be a difficult to self-concept to accept. However, a few years back, I came across the full quote in a magazine.There in italicised text, printed coyly in a small 'Quote of the Day' box were the words, 'A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one'.As someone who prefers to view her personal life through the units of language and creativity, this encounter with the latter half of my favourite quote shifted my persepctive on how I viewed and assimilated knowledge and its benefits.Since then I've ensured to dabble in fields I considered to be aligned with both my interests as well as the current needs of society. It began with my UG Honors degree in biomedical sciences, that progressed towards a M.Sc in Bioinformatics. As Covid loomed over the remote world, I worked as a Scientific Writer. It was the perfect job at the time as it combined both my passion for the scientific world as well as the linguistic world. However, while I was figuring out my role in the company and the new identification that society had given me, life did not stop. Personal experiences coerced my curiosity towards the field of Psychology, as I was determined to understand why what happened, happened. The arena of social sciences welcomed me warmly and I spent a year earning my M.Sc Conversion degree in psychology. I am currently authoring a book, and working on a collaborative literary project and always on the lookout for new opportunities!The prospects that I'm looking for are:- Researcher- Content Writer- I want to shadow counsellors, and therapists as an intern.
