I am currently leading a team of five for a project of fungal fermentation process optimization and scale up to 1KL. I have simultaneously also working on a project for the production of enzymes from Pichia pastoris.

Involved in yeast and fungal fermentation process development and scale up

I have worked extensively on bacterial and yeast fermentation and adaptation of in-licensed foreign technology to local conditions. I have also been involved in process optimization and scale up, before the process is taken up commercially. I have also worked on the downstream process and recovery of the product after the fermentation process is completed. Apart from taking the project from conception to a successful conclusion, I have also contributed to the company by costing the entire production process to evaluate it's commercial viability, as well as adapting/optimizing the process norms to fit within the budget per kg of product, at the same time uncompromising on the quality and yield of the product. I have had the opportunity to lead a team of four researchers and work together on this project, which is moving towards conclusion. Apart from this, I have also taken active part in the overall lab trouble shooting and providing ad hoc support to the current plant process.
