Synthesis of C-2 branched sugar analogues:The project aimed at preparation of C-aryl glycosides from glucal and galactal. C-aryl glycosides are arelatively small group of naturally occuring compounds with unique chemical and biological properties.The synthetic importance of C-2 branched sugars is beneficial for many biological activities.

Study of optical bandgaps in functionalized tellurium macrocycles:Successfully synthesized polyoxotellurium macrocycle with chloro and bromo capping. The band gapstudies showed a shift in the band gap when the capping was changed, which was an incredible changeconsidering the simple change of hallogen. This revealed their potential to be used as a starting materialin the making of inorganic-organic hybrid materials and their application in different fields.
