As the Head of Circulation, it is my job to guide our pages and clerks in day to day operation. This includes the cataloging and organization of materials, creating displays for our library, and working one-on-one with our patrons. As the Head of Reference, I answer questions from patrons, maintain the library's website, and write the library's monthly piece in the South County News. I also lead the Adult Book Club (and bake some mean treats for it, might I add).

Lansing, Michigan

While in this position, I took on the duties of the Instruction Librarian, conducting classes on information literacy and reference research for classes of students numbering from 5 to 30. I worked the Reference Desk and online reference chats and email during scheduled hours. In addition to being the Library Liaison for the Psychology and Political Science programs, I managed those research guides along with a few others.

Wayne, Michigan

During my time at Wayne Public Library, I was promoted from Library Aide to Young Adult and Teen Librarian due to my exceptional work upon my graduation. In addition to managing the library’s social media presence, I did purchasing and weeding for this collection, as well as managed programs such as the Teen Summer Reading Program. I worked the Reference Desk for the Youth and the Adult sections daily and assisted with Circulation when needed.

Livonia, Michigan

During my academic internship at the Madonna Library, my time was used honing my skills in information literacy and academic presentation. Using the application Prezi, I created presentations on using the library’s resources that were presented to the School Board prior to my exit. They were later used as resources during the summer recruitment by the library.

Waldo Library, Kalamazoo, Michigan

As a student at Western Michigan University, I was trained to assist library patrons with reference searches for resources, being an asset to the professional librarians. In addition, I managed shelving of the Legal collection, assisted with managing library web pages, and creating bibliographies when requested.
