Developed new materials for advanced harsh environment gas sensors for energy applications. Coordinated with NETL’s solid oxide fuel cell team for in situ testing of prototype sensors. Expanded functionality of laboratory scale testing systems via automated LabVIEW interfaces for simultaneous measurement of optical and electrical materials properties.

Studied the synthesis and properties of functional oxides and heterostructures for semiconductor photocatalysis for energy applications. Examined effects of internal electric fields on photoelectrochemical performance.
