Manufacturing And Maintenance Engineer

Sydney, Australia

Completed a Thesis to develop a ‘Maintenance Strategy Selection Tool’ suitable for Sebel Furniture. This tool served the purpose of allocating specific maintenance tasks to individual components of the moulding machines in its manufacturing line, in-turn reducing the overall cost of production. The use of these strategies and models along with maintenance data such as work orders, frequency of breakdowns, costs of maintenance, downtime, risk, industry and location specific factors pertaining to Sebel, were used towards developing an ideal decision making tool for the selection of an optimal maintenance strategy. The success of this study not only lowered production costs by appropriate allocation of labour and resources, but increased overall equipment efficiency by reducing downtime and improving plant sustainability through appropriate RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) and RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) implementation. The projected results of my Thesis revealed a feasible and effective maintenance strategy selection tool with a substantial decrease in yearly maintenance costs.
