About Amulya Ananda Kumar
MedTech is my passion. There is a duality to this industry that intrigues me. It is a field that requires an idea to enhance an existing practice while holding a promise to preserve one at the same time.As a Biomedical Engineer, I understand the technology behind successful medical devices, but what sparked my interest in MedTech was why these devices were invented. What made them succeed? Was it just a light bulb moment in an inventor's mind or an unrecognized need for the product that drove its success? My masters degree in Biomedical Innovation and Development helped me better my understanding of the Medical Device Design process. Now, as a Systems Engineer and Product Owner I get the best of both worlds. I am in the business of both understanding what my customers need from medical devices and also defining what the device should do to meet those needs. I have led multiple teams in New Product Development as well as Sustaining Engineering from concept to commercialization. In my 3+ years working in MedTech, I have helped launch Surgical Robotic Systems, System Software as well as Medical Device Accessories in several countries across the globe. I approach all my projects with a healthy appetite for taking risks and a fail early and cheap mindset. Some of my core competencies include:- User Needs Identification and Definition- Requirements Definition and Management- User Story Mapping- Backlog Creation and Management - Medical Device Software (ISO 62304)- Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)- Risk Management (ISO 14971)- Design Controls (21 CFR 820)- Verification and Validation Planning Apart from being in the business of saving lives at work, my passions include singing, dancing, and painting outside of work. If you are looking for someone passionate about MedTech, who is collaborative, and with experience working in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment, email me at amulyaak.95@gmail.com
