I am not ashamed to say that studying journalism and media was considered a study for failures in my society in the recent past. The prevailing concept in the Sudanese society about the successful student was that who studies either engineering or medicine, while other disciplines were considered for the losers. I was young, so, I studied engineering to satisfy my community, whereas my passion was media and journalism. I knew deep down that I would have to change my path one day. Despite the prestigious job I had as an engineer, which many of my peers coveted, that job did not prevent me from pursuing my desire and ambition to enter the world of journalism and media. At the beginning of 2016, I started my professional career as a TV presenter, I succeeded in working for a satellite channel in Sudan as a TV presenter. But I needed professional broadcast training. So, although it was costly, I went to Al Jazeera Media Institute in 2018 in Qatar and obtained a Diploma in TV Presentation, and then a TV Reporter training course from the same institute in 2019. Although those trainings were comprehensive, my passion for media was greater, so I traveled to the UK and obtained the degree of Master of Arts in Television Journalism from Goldsmiths University of London in 2022. After that, I completed level 1 and the advanced level of Television Presenting training courses from Sky News Arabia Academy in Abu Dhabi in 2023. And I am still pursuing self-development. I have never regretted changing my career from engineering to media, that is what I loved and found myself in. I find myself inside the studio, I love working in front of the camera, enjoying the studio environment, presenting news, interviewing guests, managing dialogues, searching and reading subject matter, and working together with my colleagues and friends inside the studio and the newsroom, my colleagues with whom I have lovely relations and I still keep in touch with them. I had a wonderful journey during my work as a TV Presenter. I presented news, produced and presented news programs and talk shows. I created many ideas for new and unique programs which I produced and presented them. I love media, otherwise, I would not have left my prestigious engineering job and incurred all the costs to study media and obtain professional media training.My path was neither easy nor cheap. I worked and volunteered without pay to train beginners and media students, so my hand is extended to everyone who wishes to start this path or needs any help or guidance.
