As SMM, I perform the same duties as the owner. I am responsible for opening and closing the store on assigned days, assisting customers in the Potters Pad experience, as well as evening cleanup and restocking.I am the primary photographer and have been instrumental in providing photos for social media as well as the brochure. As the SMM, I run The Potters Pad Facebook page along with the website. I ensure new content is added to Facebook on a daily basis while the website gets an update about once a week. My goal is to increase foot traffic by utilizing social media to engage the customer online, then bring them into the store. I like to ensure the customer gets the same warm, friendly experience online as they do in the studio.The Potters Pad is a paint-your-own pottery establishment which is trending heavily in the NW/NC Indiana region. The first of it's kind in Plymouth, the customer can come in and choose from a wide variety of unpainted pottery bisques, paint them in a veritable rainbow of colors, then come back in a week to 10 days for the final product. The biggest step the customers do not take part in is the glazing and firing of the pieces in the kiln. In the interest of safety, employees take care of those steps.
