The assistant stage manager is often stationed just offstage to facilitate communication between the stage manager, crew and actors, as well as ensuring the safety of all crew. The assistant stage manager often helps with quick changes offstage, or preparing the stage for performance. This job also included the management of props, costumes and actors while they are off stage.
