Around college, I picked up the nickname Rye—thanks to my face full of freckles. Needless to say, it stuck (not unlike my freckles). Now, I'm a professional photographer and own the aptly named Rye Studio with my husband, Chase. We're nestled in the heart of historical Stillwell, Kansas. From the moment you walk into our century-old former general store, you're likely to be greeted by our four-legged welcoming committee. When I founded the studio in 2006, I never dreamed it would lead me to meet Chase, who came in one day to have his headshots updated.
