As a sustainable fashion designer, I strive to maximize materials to their fullest potential to reduce textile waste. My expertise includes a technical understanding of design, garment construction, patternmaking, and production. I believe that everything has the potential, even the tiniest scrap of fabric, and I enjoy making the design process more sustainable. My colleagues would describe me as creative, flexible, and curious. Currently, I am seeking opportunities that will allow me to develop ideas that fix the fashion industry’s inherent problems of textile waste. Specific fields of interest include Sustainability, Circular Design, and Resale to make Fashion a better place.Message me if I can help make your next project a success! Please view my portfolio here: https://www.auerfoto.com/auerstyleMore about me:Coming from a long line of artists and makers dating back generations history, nostalgia, and craft are touchstones for my artwork and fashion design. My interest in Fashion comes from sewing and crafting at an early age, from watching my mother work surrounded by racks of clothes as a buyer at a large department store and witnessing the magic family members created with fabric, yarn, paint, and food. In 2018, I launched Asterisk And None, a series of Recipe-Towels based on old family recipes and vintage decor on Etsy. My formal connection to the Arts started with a Photography degree from San Francisco State University, continued with exhibiting my innovative photographs, and culminated with a long career as a Gallery Manager at arts non-profit Creativity Explored. I see organizing exhibitions similar to garment production, where all the components must synchronize to become a reality.I love the process behind making things, and my curious nature always needs to know why and how things get made. I am passionate about being a part of the fashion industry where sustainability, fairness, respect for the environment, the supply chain, and the people who make the clothes are valued.

Auerstyle is the upcycled home decor line in which I utilize textile waste to create unique products. I am putting less waste into landfills by using reclaimed denim and vintage textiles. This is an important part of my sustainable journey. Products include patchwork potholders, bottle bags, aprons, house knots and sustainable stemshttps://www.etsy.com/shop/Auerstyle

Conceptualized and produced samples for a sustainable women's fashion collection using upcycling and textile waste to create wearable pieces. Conceptualized mood boards to showcase design ideas. Working remotely as part of a team of creatives I found the process of being part of a global community of like-minded people rewarding.

A bee-hive of activity surrounded me. It was exhilarating to be amongst almost 100+ artists creating each day. Seeing art made in front of you without any kind of apprehension was an unforgettable experience. Art really does change lives.Coordinating logistics of over 300 art exhibitions from the onsite gallery to museums with this artwork and designing seasonal art products to promote the organization and the artists brought together my skills of project management, production and honed my aesthetic senses. One of my favorite accomplishments was to advocate for and fulfill the organization's goal of participating in the Outsider Art Fair. Bringing the art in front of an international audience was an incredible experience, which brought a deeper meaning to what I did.

Wanting to work with photography I found myself at this award-winning commercial studio. I got to see the power of commercial photography, how it can tell stories and sell things, and what it takes to produce advertising. I developed my keen eye for detail from cataloging thousands of analog film images and being able to retrieve them at a moment's notice. This helped me be able to assist stock imagery clients and to better market the studio by coordinating the production of marketing materials.

Being surrounded by luxurious fabrics in the historic American Can Building in Dogpatch and seeing the process of manufacturing first hand was a great experience. I managed production and quality control of 1000 units monthly for coats and womenswear much of it produced in the very same building. I ran the outlet store and special sales that loyal customers loved dearly.
