In my role as an associate lecturer, I teach a variety of communication courses at Eastern Michigan University and Washtenaw Community College. These classes include Public Speaking, Gender Communication, Listening Behavior, Small Group Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, Interracial Communication, and Student Success.I also serve as the event coordinator for Eastern Michigan University's Undergraduate Symposium. The annual Symposium is a one-day celebration that includes research projects in the humanities, social sciences, and natural/physical sciences, performances, design-based projects, and more. The first of its kind in the nation, the Symposium reflects the unique, complex, and engaging experiences one can have as an undergraduate at EMU.Guiding and structuring student academic engagement is a key element of my job. Identifying opportunities for students to thrive inside and outside the classroom, in connection to their academic and social goals, is the main driving factor of my professional agenda.
