North Helpline works to prevent homelessness by providing short-term solutions to combat financial adversity such as providing food, baby supplies, eviction prevention and utility shutoff assistance, and move-in support. NHL also offers strategies and resources for resolving financial and personal issues through referrals to community organizations, government programs, and faith-based organizations. NHL taps into and coordinates the generosity of neighbors and community members, treating each volunteer, donor and client with dignity and respect.

Creates and implements annual development plan. Tracks, writes, edits, prepares and submits all grant proposals and other correspondence with corporate and foundation donors. Responsible for development of key donor relationships, and stewardship, communication, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition of major donors. Conducts large-scale fundraising events. Secures support from the private sector to underwrite events and agency activities through sponsorships and employee giving campaigns. Supports board members in individual fundraising initiatives. Develops an annual comprehensive agency communication plan. Responsible for creation and production of direct mail, newsletters, annual reports, agency website and other marketing materials. Develops effective, culturally competent messaging for a variety of constituents. Ensures consistent branding and messaging. Collaborates with CFO to develop annual revenue and expense budgets.

Responsible for writing, editing, and coordinating all public relations and marketing materials including direct mail, a quarterly newsletter, informational pamphlets, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and annual reports. Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s website. Contact local media sources regarding area-specific content and compose and distribute press releases accordingly.
