Working within a team stocking up the shelves to make sure customers have all that they need. Helping customers when the shop is open to find products that they might need as well as working on the tills to give the best customer service that I possibly can.

In the summer I undertook two weeks work placement at The Great Dorset Steam Fair. I undertook a variety of different tasks so that I could understand the different aspects that people who work in events undertake. The different tasks that I undertook in the placement included: greeting staff and contractors on arrival and making sure they sign in and out each day as well as issuing them with radios if needed. To distribute necessary clothing (i.e. high visibility jackets) and supplies (i.e.work tools) necessary to authorised personnel only. Log out all vehicle keys (only after inspection of the Authorised Driver Id) and make sure you record details of every key removed from the site office. To manage the signing in and out of the site radio requirements. To assist with the running of staff and volunteer inductions. To assist the Site Office Manager with any required duties. Taking money off the public so they were able to use the showers daily.

As part of my degree we had to get into groups to put on an event to gain experience within the industry. The group I was in held a Full Moon Beach Party at Ninety's Penthouse, Southampton, we decided that we would also raise money for The Clic Sargent Charity, which we raised over £200. We had to look as all aspects of the event – I.e meeting up with the venue, creating contracts, buying décor, looking into the marketing – ticketing and posters/social media, looking at the risks and the financial side of it. We achieved our goal with nearly 100 people attending.

Serving customer effectively and friendly, delivering them outstanding customer service. Ensuring the tills are clean and tidy when we leave the tills. helping customers with there shopping.
