Over my 15 years at Pelham Academy, I have developed a mass array of skills that can benefit me in a variety of job settings. I started my career at Pelham as a Special Ed History teacher in 2006. I taught History for the first four years of my career. Because of the unique environment at Pelham, I was able to develop great team building skills during this time, as well as time management, crisis prevention, and leadership.My leadership skills were recognized and was promoted to Lead Teacher and then Assistant Education Director in 2010. During this period of my career, I mastered balancing meetings, paper work, interfacing with the public, began training colleagues, as well as continuing to teach.Over the past 7 years I have been the Director of Education. In this capacity, I have managed people, been in charge of crisis management, joined corporate wide committees, created curriculum and programming, maintained compliance with state agencies, and create a safe, structured environment in which students learn.I was recently promoted to the Director of Operations, taking my expertise in leadership, program development, and operationalization of ideas to the whole program instead of focusing on the Education Department solely.I am a motivated, creative worker with a long history of excelling at challenging tasks presented to me in the work place. I am able to think quickly and decisively as well as work collaboratively with a team of people. I enjoy a challenging and supportive work environment where I can stretch my skills.
