Facilitate with Federal, State & Local grant agencies for the acquisition and allocation of housing rehabilitation/repair funds and organizational support funds.

Process, underwrite and close rehab loans and grants. Teach 1st time Homebuyer Education classes (pre & post). Basic foreclosure prevention and predatory lending counseling.

Responsible for supervising the day to day operations of the Home Ownership Department including First-time Homebuyer Education, Foreclosure Prevention, Predatory Lending prevention, the Mortgage Relief Grant Program, HECM counseling and the Housing Hotline. In additon to supervising, maintain a Foreclosure Prevention case load and assist in preventing foreclosure by negotiating with lenders, working with Realtors, Foreclosure and Bankruptcy Attorneys. Teach classes to potential mortgagors in individual and group settings concentrating on all aspects of homeownership including budgeting, planning for repairs, how to avoid predatory lending and foreclosure prevention. Counsel senior citizens regarding the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM). Receive, assess and refer phone calls for questions regarding rental housing, homeownership and homelessness in accordance with New York State Real Property Law.
